Milkteeth's first release, the Chance EP, was recorded by Chochukmo’s Kento Kawamura and mixed by local music veteran Koya Hisakazu, at Mark-1 Studios. The album acts as a retrospective of ten years worth of Joey’s songwriting in various projects, as well as a deft expression of the band’s personal identity: from the raucous and sophomoric “Shea Heights” (penned at seventeen years old), in which Joey slyly comments on his first lover’s skill in bed, to “Edging”, a more mature composition, dealing with the universal theme of a young man’s need for familial support in order to grow into a responsible person.
